It's the Little Things in Life

"Every night when I close my eyes I see the ways that you've touched my life.  And I want you to know that I'll always be right here [...] These are the days these are the moments that pass us by..."
-Hawk Nelson's "Right Here"

♥New mornings and blank slates.
[God]

♥A cup of coffee and a good time catching up with your "little big" brother.
[JaM]

♥A day (and late night) talking, playing Rock Band and giggling with your miniature you.
[Angela]

♥Someone bringing you special Band-Aids when you stupidly injure yourself at work.
[Mommy]

♥Hours of playing Catch Phrase with people you see too little of.
[The "Slicker" side of the family]

♥Coffee, a movie and catching up with someone who you really do miss hanging out with.
[Joel]

♥A new blanket that's just right for you.
[Aaron]

♥"Do NOT use that in your toilet tank!" from a man who knows better than you.
[Daddy]

♥Having guests who leave your place looking nicer than it did when they first arrived.
[Adam & Autumn]

♥That special someone who buys you "mega" vitamin C and drinks with zinc and hibiscus in it when you get sick (and then asks you every day if you're taking your vitamins).
[Aaron]

♥Your roommate making sure there is always a ready supply of freshly-baked goodies.
[Chanel]

♥Waking up in the morning to a clean living room and immaculate kitchen when you know you left it a mess.
[Aaron]

♥A sheepish request from your brother to please straighten his hair so he can see how it looks.
[JaM]

♥A boss who says "Go eat your lunch, Becca" when you're sick, but don't want to stop working on your project.
[Ed]

♥Big hugs with a "Love you" from your pesty brother.
[Stephen]

I have many things and so very much that I am thankful for as this year draws to a close.  The above are only a few of the simple moments that have happened over the past month, but they are what inspired me to write this blog.  It's too easy to focus on wanting to know what the "big picture" will be and where we'll be in 5 years or what we'll be doing tomorrow.  Why not simply focus on today?  Thank you, God for all you've given me and thank you for helping me see the little things in life...
